One of the most prestigious events Cannes Film Festival kicked off on May 17. This time, the film festival is celebrating Indian cinema. To note, India has been named as the official ‘Country of Honour’ at the Marche` Du Film. I&B Minister Anurag Thakur is leading a delegation from India which includes AR Rahman, Pooja Hegde, and Shekhar Kapur, among others. On the second day of the prestigious film festival, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a striking appearance at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. After donning a pink pantsuit, the gorgeous diva served up another glam look. For her second look, Aishwarya wore a ravishing black gown featuring embellished flower sleeves. She paired it with beautiful earrings and heavily kohled eyes. The beauty queen kept her hair open and waved to cheering fans near the red carpet. Earlier on Wednesday, pictures of Aishwarya’s first look surfaced online. Aishwarya wore a Valentino pink pantsuit. She even posed for photos with Eva Longoria. To note, both of them are L’Oreal brand ambassadors.
Aishwarya’s Cannes debut
It was in 2002 when Aishwarya made her Cannes debut with Shah Rukh Khan. Ever since then she has been known for her stunning red carpet appearances. Meanwhile, on the work front, Aishwarya is currently working on Mani Ratnam’s much-talked-about movie Ponniyin Selvan along with Vikram, Jayam Ravi, and Karthi. Ponniyin Selvan is slated to release on September 30, 2022.
Bollywood celebs’ at Cannes 2022
Apart from Aishwarya, there are a number of other Indian celebs attending the festival this year. On day one of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, Deepika Padukone among other jury members walked the red carpet. Urvashi Rautela and Tamannaah Bhatia too were seen at their stylish best as they walked the Cannes red carpet. Actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, R Madhavan, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah, Urvashi Rautela, and composer AR Rahman are also present at the prestigious festival. A total of six films from India are being screened at the festival. These include – Rocketry – The Nambi Effect (Hindi, English, Tamil), Godavari (Marathi), Alpha Beta Gamma (Hindi), Boomba Ride (Mishing), Dhuin (Maithili) and Niraye Thathakalulla Maram (Malayalam).
