He made the call while addressing an election meeting as the chief guest at Bar Bhaban No. 1 in Rajshahi on Sunday at 2:30 pm. Mayor Liton said, β€œThe effects of the Russia-Ukraine war have fallen on world markets. All in all, a crisis has been created in the world market. The price of dollar and commodity has risen. In such a situation, attempts are being made to confuse the people of this country by saying that the country’s economy has become fragile as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina built the Padma Bridge with our own money. Those who are ignorant say that Bangladesh will become Sri Lanka at any time. Sri Lanka is in crisis because of their mistakes. It would not be right to compare Bangladesh with Sri Lanka. Bangladesh’s reserves are adequate, our expatriate workers are still sending remittances, and our per capita income has risen from 2,500 $ to 2,872 $. Educated people understand these indicators.”

RCC Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton said that the way Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handled the country during the corona period has been appreciated by the whole world. She has taken some economic precautions like controlling imports of luxury goods and ban of government officials’ traveling abroad.
