The Prime Minister’s grant of Tk 3 crore 72 lakh for the heart patients has been delivered to the concerned authority. Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Tofazzal Hossain Mia on Wednesday handed over the checks to the Director of National Heart Institute and Hospital, Prof Dr Mir Jamal Uddin and Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery, Dr Ashraful Haque Siam. Earlier, in August last year, the Prime Minister had given a grant of Tk 3.29 crore for the distribution of free medical supplies to the helpless heart patients. The grant money was used to distribute 300 stents (rings), 150 valves and 100 pace maker patients. Many patients have to have valve replacement, placement and placement of the ring. Many of them do not get the opportunity to get that treatment due to financial crisis. After learning about the matter, the Prime Minister gave a two-point grant to the National Heart Institute and the largest hospital for the treatment of heart patients at the government level.
