As of Saturday morning (14-05-2022), a total of 520,404,650 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 6,286,723 while 474,968,288 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data. The US has registered 272 deaths and 87,595 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,026,527 and counting the overall caseload to 84,174,521 in the country due to the pandemic so far.
Germany has seen the second-highest death toll of 181 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 137,809. The total number of cases has exceeded 25,733,580 with 67,670 new infections. Brazil has registered the third-highest death toll of 130 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 664,830 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 30,664,739 with 25,609 new cases. In Italy, 115 more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 165,091. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 16,993,813 as 38,507 new cases were confirmed during the period.
South Africa has reported 8,349 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 3,879,434.
