Detective Branch (DB) of Police, in separate raids on Saturday and Friday, arrested two drug traders along with phensedyl and yaba from Chowgachha Upazila of the district.
In the first drive, a DB police team, led by Jashore DB SI Md Ariful Islam and ASI Nirmal Kumar Ghosh, raided Mahatab Munsir intersection in Fulsara Village under the upazila early Saturday and arrested Md. Abu Bakkar Siddik, 28, son of Nisar Uddin of Paschim Karigar Para in the upazila along with 25 bottles of phensedyl and cash Tk 8,500.
In another drive, another team of DB, led by Jashore DB SI Md. Idrisur Rahman and ASI Nitai Chandra Dash, raided in Purapara Khalpara area of the upazila and arrested Rabbi Rahman, 21, son of Md. Fazlur Rahman of Purapara Clubpara area in the upazila along with 52 pieces of yaba tablets and cash Tk 15,600 on Friday night. Separate cases were filed with Chowgachha Police Station in these connections.
