Kurigram Battalion (22 BGB) in a drive seized 45 Indian buffaloes from about 200 gauges inside the main pillar no. 1047 in the Jahazer Alga and Mekurer Char and surrounding areas in the district on Monday. BGB had information that Indian cattle have been smuggled through the Daikhawar Char BOP border for the last few days.
In this connection, under the overall direction of Kurigram Battalion Commander Lt. Colonel Md. Abdul Mottakim, SPP, PSC, G, and under the plan of Acting Adjutant Assistant Director Md. Yunus Ali, a special operation was conducted in the said area under the leadership of Battalion Deputy Commander Major Md. Mahbubur Rahman, ASC, and Acting Adjutant Assistant Director Md. Yunus Ali and the buffaloes were seized. The seizure price of the buffaloes was estimated at about Tk 70 lakh. The process of handing over the seized buffaloes to Kurigram Customs was ongoing until the report. When contacted on his
mobile phone, Kurigram Customs Office Deputy Commissioner Billa Hossain did not receive the call.
