4 held with 1,230 litres of cholai wine in Nachole

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four persons allegedly for preparing, storing and selling cholai wine and also seized 1,230 litres of cholai wine from their possession at Nachole upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The arrestees are Subol Roy, 39, Md. Matiur Rahman, 40, both of Amarok village under Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila, Dayal Maddi alias Marandi, 37, of Mayera Kartikpur village of the same upazila and Rupchan Roy, 53, a resident of Kartikpur Basugram under Nachole upazila.

On a tip-off, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp conducted a raid at Kartikpur village under Nejampur union of the upazila around 3.10 pm and arrested them with the wine, a RAB official said.

Later the elite force handed them over to Nachole police station with a case.
