AC technician remanded for killing woman in front of babies DHAKA, March 29, 2022 (BSS) – A court here today placed a man on five-day remand in a case lodged over murder of a woman in front of her two little babies in capital’s Sabujbagh area. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Afnan Sumi passed the order as police produced AC technician Bappi before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand.
According to police, Bappi went to the flat of Tania Afroz, 26, in Dakkhingao Bot Tola area in Sabujbagh on March 26 evening and tried to rob the house. As Tania tried to resist, he mercilessly hacked her to death in front of her babies, one three-year-old, and another 10-month-old. He put scotch tape on the mouths of the two siblings so that they cannot scream. Bappi then looted the house, as he took four tolas of gold ornaments, a mobile phone and Taka 15,000.
