Mahmudul Hasan Joy became the first Bangladeshi player to make a hundred against South Africa. He reached the magic figure off 269 balls taking a double off Maharaj in the fifth ball of the 97th over of the innings. Mominul Haque’s 77 in Potchefstroom back in 2017 was the previous highest by a Bangladeshi batter against the Proteas in Tests. Joy got his Maiden century in an away series in challenging conditions like South Africa. He struck 10 fours and a six to reach the milestone.
