Rashayan Sangshad, a student organization of the chemistry department at Jahangirnagar University (JU), has declared a new executive committee for the 2022-23 session.
On Wednesday, the new executive committee was announced at a freshers’ reception for 50th batch students and a farewell ceremony for 45th batch students of the department at the gallery room of the chemistry building.
Tarek Mir of the 46th batch and Gazi Miraz of the 47th batch of students in the department were nominated as vice president (VP) and general secretary (GS), respectively.
Presided over by Prof Arzu Miah while JU vice chancellor (VC) Prof Nurul Alam was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. Pro VC Prof Sheikh Monzurul Haque, treasurer Rasheda Akhtar, former professor of the department Elias Molla, senior faculty Nurul Abser, Koushik Saha, among others, were present.
The other members of the committee are – assistant general secretary (AGS) Shakil Hossain, cultural affairs secretary Apurbo Baidya, library affairs secretary Priyodip Karmaker, sports affairs secretary Debapriyo Paul, assistant sports affairs secretary, Humayon Kabir, publicity and student welfare affairs secretary Maruf Hossain, and women affairs secretary Anamika Sultana.
Besides, Iqbal Hossain, Mridul Saha, Shamin Yeasir Borson, Sajib Sarkar, and Khondokar Sizan are declared executive members of the committee.
