7 DU-affiliated colleges’ admission tests begin June 16

Dhaka University (DU)-affiliated government seven colleges for the academic year 2022-23 graduate admission examination will begin on June 16. The arts and Social Science unit exam will be held on this day. After that, the science unit exam will be held on June 17 and the business education unit admission exam will be held on June 24.

All three unit exams will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM. However, you have to enter the examination center by 10:30 am.

DU’s Central Admission Test Committee Convener Professor Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman said that from April 2 to April 30, 1,100,29 students applied to participate in the admission test of three units of seven colleges. Out of this, 38,495 students have applied to take part in the admission test of the science unit, 37,282 people have applied to take part in the admission test of the arts and social science unit and 25,252 students have applied to take part in the admission test of business education unit.

Arts and Social Sciences Unit

The admission Test for Arts and Social Science Unit will be held on June 16 (Friday) from 11 AM to 12 PM. The admission test will be the MCQ system. The total marks will be 100 for the total 100 questions.

The admission test of a total of 100 marks will have 100 questions on the three subjects of Bengali, English, and General Knowledge. The questions of the admission test will be as per the higher secondary level syllabus. Distribution of marks for three subjects respectively- Bengali-25, English-25 General knowledge-50 (Bangladesh and international events in the general knowledge section at secondary and higher secondary level subject questions, sociology, urban policy and good governance, economics, history, history of Islam, logic, geography, religion), etc.

Science Unit

The science unit admission test will be held on June 17 (Saturday) from 11 AM to 12 PM. The admission test will be the MCQ system. The total marks will be 100 for the total 100 questions. The admission test pass number is 40. Candidates scoring less than 40 marks will not be considered for admission.

The questions in the entrance exam will be as per the syllabus followed in the Higher Secondary Examination 2022 and each candidate will have to answer a total of four questions including Physics and Chemistry. Total marks 25 for each subject. However, candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology at Higher Secondary or equivalent level will appear in these subjects. However, if a candidate wishes, he can take the exam in either Bengali or English instead of the 4th subject of higher secondary level only.

Candidates who have not studied the subjects (maximum two) of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology at the Higher Secondary or equivalent level, have to complete the total four subjects by taking the exam in Bengali or English instead.

Business Education Unit

The admission Test for Business Education Unit will be held on June 24 (Saturday) at 11 AM. The examination will be held in MCQ mode. The answering procedure will be described in the instructions section of the question paper.

The entrance exam will carry 100 marks out of a total of 100 questions and the duration of the exam will be 1 hour.

The purpose of this examination will be to verify the knowledge acquired at the higher secondary level. Question papers will be prepared based on the syllabus at the higher secondary level. The distribution of 100 marks in the entrance exam respectively- Bengali-20, English-20, Accountancy-20, Business Principles and Application-20, Marketing or Finance, Banking and Insurance (any none) 20 marks.
