Eastern Cable Ltd. (ECL) under the Ministry of Industry completed the export of more than 5.0 million worth of cables to China’s National Technical Import and Export Corporation (CNTIEC). In this regard, Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque Bhuiyan, Chairman, Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC), NDC said that all the factories including Eastern Cables Limited under BSEC were kept in compliance with hygiene during the global corona epidemic. BSEC’s company has brought 5.0 lakh 24 thousand dollars in the country through the export of cables. It is truly a promising activity for government organizations.
He further said that all the institutions under BSEC are working for the implementation of Vision-41 announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Of the 14 institutions under the control of BSEC, 9 are operational. Activities have been started with a plan to introduce closed industrial establishments in phases. Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL) has a 30% stake in BSEC. BHL manufactures and markets various models of Japanese brand motorcycles. The company has an important role to play in stabilizing the motorcycle market in the country. Work is underway to make the institutions under BSEC profitable and export oriented. Instructions have already been given to work as per the plan for modernization of old machineries and completion of ongoing projects on time.

Abul Kalam Azad, Managing Director, ECL, said that in order to make Eastern Cable Ltd. a more profitable entity, direct procurement of PDB, BREB, DPDC, PGCB, DESCO, Nesco and all other state-owned enterprises under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources. Through Eastern Cables Ltd. to purchase the electrical cables and conductors produced. He said that Eastern Cables is the best cable in the country with internationally recognized and quality. There is no alternative to Eastern Cables to avoid the risk of short circuit accidents and fires to keep the power supply uninterrupted
