Although the policy makers introduced a good number of fashion designing institutes to compete in the international market, most of the students are not getting opportunities to flourish their talent in their respective fields and they are being forced to conduct survival oriented activities in the apparel industry, mentioned the new generation fashion designer of the country. “At present, I am serving for a reputed multiannual company namely FCI (BD) Limited at Savar EPZ as design manager and I am availing adequate policy and logistic support from my authority, but such a working friendly atmosphere is not prevailing to the fellow students.

We have many reputed apparel industries, but authorities are reluctant in conducting the R&D wings mainly for minimizing the overburdened expenditure of the stakeholders. If we want to ensure product and market diversification accordingly, surely we will have to invest more in the R&D arena”, said the fashion technology expert while giving an exclusive interview to the Daily Tribunal for sharing her vast expertise and sincere effort to make a sustainable RMG industry. The Global Product Developer Muna Nahida urged the government to implement an effective state policy to facilitate the higher education holding students which would help boost the product and market diversification mechanism.

Now-a-days, the designs of the local designers are now highly appreciated in the global market for their innovative concepts in making seasonal and geographical location based clothing products. If we want to ensure a sustainable RMG sector, it is a time-befitting demand to expand the R & D arena through ensuring higher investment by the joint efforts of the government and the stakeholders.
