ICSB organizes seminar on “Leadership and Human Resource Development”

Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) organized a seminar titled “Leadership and Human Resource Development” on Monday at the Samson H. Chowdhury Centre, Dhaka Club Limited in the city.

Renowned Economist and former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented a keynote paper on “Leadership and Human Resource Development” while Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited and President of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC) Rupali Chowdhury was the discussant and guest of honour, said a press release today.

Director and Chief Executive Officer of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury was the discussant of the seminar.

President of the Institute Mohammad Asad Ullah delivered a welcome speech and thanked everyone for joining the seminar.

Atiur Rahman elaborated the various aspects of “Participatory Leadership”. He mentioned that Bangladesh is on track to become a trillion-dollar economy and trustworthy leadership in Bangladesh has been mobilizing resources to enhance sustainability of the socio-economic gains.

He discussed different challenges of leadership and focused that the leadership challenge is growing and becoming more important in the context of evolving organization.

He also mentioned that the ICSB members are playing a vital role in establishing good governance in private and public limited companies of the country through their leadership and human resource skills.

In his speech, he said that through this kind of programme, members of the institute have been enormously benefited with the updated knowledge.

He specially thanked speakers for sharing leadership experience in the seminar which will be helpful to develop the leadership skills of a chartered secretary for bringing excellence to the organizations.
