Over 2.43cr doses Covid-19 jabs administered in Rangpur

A total of two crore 43 lakh 89 thousand and 175 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered till Saturday in the division where the pandemic situation continues improving in recent times. Health officials said the Covid-19 vaccination campaign continues smoothly through inoculation of people with the first, second and third doses of Covid-19 jabs in all eight districts of the division. Citizens are being vaccinated with five types of Covid-19 jabs from different companies like Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinovac across the division. However, inoculation of citizens with Moderna Covid-19 vaccines is currently not continuing due to shortage of the jabs.

“Till Saturday, a total of 1,33,78,246 people got the first dose of Covid-19 jabs, and of them, 1,02,54,588 got the second doses and 7,56,341 got the booster doses,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam told today. The first dose recipient 1,33,78,246 citizens include 39,31,003 vaccinated with AstraZeneca Covid-19 jabs, 19,81,012 with Pfizer, 52,24,174 with Sinopharm, 1,31,876 with Moderna and 21,10,181 with Sinovac.

The second dose recipient 1,02,54,588 citizens include 30,67,568 people inoculated with AstraZeneca Covid-19 jabs, 16,52,24,174 with Pfizer, 50,11,895 with Sinopharm, 1,27,554 with Moderna and 3,92,054 with Sinovac. “Besides, the 7,56,341 booster dose recipients include 6,56,650 vaccinated with AstraZeneca Covid-19 jabs, 96,601 with Pfizer and 3,090 with Moderna,” Dr. Islam added.
