Organizational Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, public leader Sujit Roy Nandi said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has struggled throughout his life to establish a non-communal democratic Bangladesh. Today, under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter, Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is a role model of communal harmony in the world.
This was said by the chief guest during the distribution of gifts, clothes and cash on behalf of the Hon’ble Prime Minister on the occasion of Durga Puja at Swarnkhola Harijan Colony in Chandpur city on Sunday (October 22) evening.
During this time he visited the puja mandap of all the temples in Chandpur and distributed clothes and cash.
Sujit Roy Nandi said, “Religion is the festival of all,” the slogan of leader Sheikh Hasina has been established in the country today.
He said, people of all classes and professions are celebrating religious festivals in Chandpur regardless of caste and religion. There is no difference between us.
The bond of brotherhood will always be unbreakable.
He also said, everyone jumped into the liberation war at the call of Bangabandhu to establish non-communal democracy and liberated the country. Everyone must work together to protect that freedom.
He said, Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. People of all religions have been living here since time immemorial. This harmony is our national heritage. Religion belongs to everyone, festival belongs to everyone. We all want to advance Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
President of Chandpur Swarnkhola Harijan Colony Durga Puja Committee Raju Harijan spoke as special guests, Chandpur District Awami League President Nashir Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Bir Muktijoddha Abu Naeem Patwari Dulal, District Awami League Vice President Engineer Abdur Rob Bhuiyan, Joint General Secretary Advocate Zahirul Islam, labor affairs resource person Nurul Islam Miyaji, advocate Debashish Kar Madhu, district volunteer league vice president advocate Ataur Rahman Patwari and others, leaders of District Awami League, Chhatra League, Volunteer League, Pooja Celebration Parishad were present on the occasion.
