RAB arrest 3 for allegedly realising extortion in C’nawabganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three persons for allegedly realising illegal money as toll from trucks, pickups and autorickshaws during a raid at Amnura in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila yesterday afternoon.

The arrestees were Md. Rafiqul Islam, 55, Md. Nabab Ali, 40 and Shree Supod Bormon, 45, all hails from Amnura Jhilim Bazar at the upazila.

RAB said acting on a tip off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at Amnura-adjacent road under Jhilim union of the upazila around 1 pm and found them taking tolls halting the vehicles.

RAB personnel then arrested the three persons and handed them over to the police of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Thana and filed a case, it said.
