Two people were killed and five others
injured as a pickup van overturned on Bangabandhu Expressway in Hasara area
under Sreenagar upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as Md Hafez, 45 and Md Shahidul.

Police said the accident occurred this noon when a fish-laden pickup van
overturned on the expressway as its driver lost control over the steering,
leaving seven people critically injured on the spot.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex
where the on-duty doctor Aklima Rowshon declared Hafez and Shahidul dead.

The injured were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for better
treatment.
