185 girls get laptops free of cost in Magura

A total of 185 young female trainees were given laptops today free of cost aimed at transforming them into successful entrepreneurs through income generating activities, particularly e-commerce and freelancing in the  district.

The trainees coming from different areas in Magura Sadar, Mohammadpur and Sreepur upazilas were given the laptops for women empowerment through information and communication technology.

On behalf of its ‘Her Power Project’, the Department of Information and Communication Technology distributed the laptops at a function held at   Asaduzzaman Auditorium in Sadar upazila here this afternoon.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Prashant Kumar Biswas addressed the function as the chief guest, while Deputy Director of the ‘Her Power Project’ of the Department of Information and Communication Technology Nilufa Yasmin was in the chair.

Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Nasir Bablu, Mayor Khurshid Haider Tutul, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mizanur Rahman, Mohammadpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Palash Mandal, Sreepur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)  Shyamanand Kundu, district information and communication technology officer Md. Abul Kashem Palash, Sadar Upazila Awami League President Ashraful Alam Babul Fakir, trainee Kalyani Rani Biswas and Zainab Khatun, among others, spoke.
