210 female get free laptops in Bhola

A total of 210 trainee girls were given laptops today free of cost aimed at transforming them into successful entrepreneurs through income generating activities, particularly e-commerce and women freelancer category of the district.

The trainees coming from different areas in Bhola Sadar, Borhanuddin and Charfashion upazilas were given the laptops with the main thrust of women empowerment through information and communication technology frontier initiative.

On behalf of its ‘Her Power Project’, the Department of Information and Communication Technology distributed the laptops at a function held at Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium here this afternoon.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Arifuzzaman handed over the laptops among the trainee girls as the chief guest with Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sajal Chandra Sheel in the chair, jointly organised by Sadar Upazila Administration and Information and Communication Technology Department.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Sabikun Nahar, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Ali Suza, Sadar Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman Md Yunus and Programmer of District Information and Communication Technology Department Md Arifur Rahman, among others, spoke.
