In commemoration of the Tragic August, a distribution of the book among the students titled ‘Bangabandhu’s Unfinished Autobiography’ and a discussion meeting were held under the initiative of ‘Udyokta Chattogram’.
Chattogram Metropolitan Juba League leader and Udyokta Chattogram founder Sonia Azad presided over the programmes which were held on Kazem Ali High School premises on Friday, while lawmaker of Chattogram-9 Constituency and Deputy Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury was present as the chief guest.
Among others, former deputy finance secretary of Bangladesh Awami Juba League Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar, Kazem Ali School and College Board of Directors President and Chawkbazar Thana Awami League President Md Shahabuddin Ahmed, General Secretary Ansar Ul Haque, No. 16 Chowkbazar Ward Councilor Noor Mostafa Tinu and Woman Councilor Rumki Sen Gupta were also present. Udyokta Chattogram Administrator Ishmam Shahriar moderated the programme.
Speaking as the chief guest, Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said, “Bangabandhu has taught us to love the soil and the people of the country. Bangabandhu has given us an independent country. His daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is finishing his unfinished works and built a country free from hunger and poverty.”
Addressing the students, he said, “Our future generation should turn grief into strength and move forward. If the students cherish his ideals and spirit in their hearts and commit themselves to the formation of the country from any position, then true respect will be shown to him.”
In the president’s speech, Udyokta Chattogram Founder and Chattogram Juba Mohila League leader Sonia Azad quoted from the biography of Bangabandhu and said, “Bangladesh will become a developed country only if Bangabandhu’s ideals and dreams can be implemented.”
The discussion meeting was also attended by Md. Kofil Uddin, publicity and publication secretary of Purba Sholashahar Ward Awami League, Israt Jahan, convener committee member of Chattogram Metropolitan Juba League, Kaniz Fatema, Nasreen Sultana, Fatema Nasreen Prema, Naureen Chowdhury Flora and many others.
