Meeting on mid-term review of SDGs held in Charghat

Implemented by the Thanapara Swallows Development Society and with the financial support of donor organizations SDG Action Alliance and NRDS, a regional public meeting on mid-term review of SDGs was held at the Thanapara Swallows Development Society training hall in Charghat Upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.
Thanapara Swallows Development Society Executive Director Raihan Ali chaired the meeting while Ruffao Directors Afzal Hossain and Mahmuda Begum, Charghat Municipality Commissioner Feroza Begum, Charghat Women’s College Lecturer Kamruzzaman, Nandangachhi College Lecturer Dr. Kamruzzaman, civil society representative Akbar Ali Sarkar, Nrigoshthi President Shosthi Paharia, Charghat Press Club President Nazrul Islam Bachchu, and Upazila Press Club President Mozammel Haque were present.
Speakers at the meeting said, “Despite achieving commendable success in terms of economic development, Bangladesh has reached such a critical juncture in the current context of Covid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war. Everyone should come forward to achieve the SDGs of the government by dealing with the development inequality and climate crisis in the implementation of the United Nations Agenda 2030. In such a context, we emphasize strengthening international solidarity, including adopting new strategies and coordinated efforts to achieve SDGs by 2030.”
