Marking the inauguration of the fourth phase of house transfer to landless and homeless families by the Prime Minister in Mujib birth centenary across the country including Homna Upazila of the district, a press briefing was held at the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office on Monday morning.
It is known that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already handed over 185 houses along with land in 13 places of six unions in Homna. Besides, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the programme of giving land deeds and house keys to 33 more landless and homeless families from Ganabhaban on August 9.
UNO Khemalika Chakma addressed the press conference organized by the upazila administration on this occasion. At that time, she said, according to the information received so far in the upazila, houses have been arranged for all the landless and homeless families. Even then, if someone becomes homeless again, they will also be provided with houses periodically.
She also said that the upazila will be freed from landless and homeless through the distribution of houses to 218 landless and homeless families in the upazila under the Ashrayan project as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Yusuf Hasan, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Nahid Ahmed Zakir, Upazila Food Control Officer Md. Washim and others were present in the press briefing.
