8 drug peddlers held with 62-kg ganja in Bogura

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested eight alleged drug peddlers with 62 kilograms of ganja from a place in Bogura district early this morning.

The arrestees were identified as Sohel Mian, 28, Jewel Ahmed, 24, Kaosar Ahmed, 23, Niamat Hossain, 25, Ruhul Amin, 25, Shakil Ahmed, 25, Sadia Akter, 19, and Khorshed Alam, 27, Rab sources here said this noon.

On a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a raid in the bus stand area in Dupchanchia Upazila Headquarters around 8:30 am and arrested them with the hemp after searching a private car, RAB sources said.

The arrestees with the seized contraband goods along with the car were handed over to police.
