A Dhaka court today has again granted a four-day remand to Sumon Sikder alias Musa, the mastermind and coordinator of the murder case of Awami League leader Zahidul Islam Tipu and college student Samia Afran Prity at Shahjahanpur in the capital. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir’s court granted the remand on Friday.

Accused Musa was produced in the court after a 6-day remand. After that, the investigating officer of the case, Inspector Yasin Sikder, appealed for remand for another 12 days to investigate the case and unravel the mystery of the murder. Following the hearing, the court granted him a four-day remand.

Earlier, on May 17, Oman police arrested Musa. On June 9, the intelligence police brought him back to the country from Oman. The next day, on June 10, the court denied bail and granted Musa a six-day remand.

With his statement, the police found the involvement of top terrorist Sumon Sikder alias Musa as the mastermind and coordinator of the murder.

On March 24, former general secretary of Motijheel Awami League Tipu was returning home to Khilgaon Bagichha by his microbus from the restaurant. As the vehicle got stuck in a traffic jam, unidentified assailants fired shots at it.
