Dowry case against businessman for arranging fake wife to embezzle property

A few families, including a man named Shahjalal, have been held hostage by a gang of land robbers in Rajabari area under Turag police station of Dhaka North City Corporation. A woman named Roksna Begum (30) filed a false case under the dowry law in the court of the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka by creating a marriage certificate through fraud. In the case, his father’s name is given as deceased Yusuf Molla and mother’s name as Fatema Khatun and the address is given as Sang-Mahanpur, Post-Alga, Thana-Nawabganj, District-Dhaka. The defendants in the said case are businessman Md Shahjalal Mia (34) son of Abul Kashem Mia of Rajabari area of Turag and Yakub Ali Kabir (40) son of Tahur Uddin of the same area.

In the details of the case, it is mentioned that on 14/05/2012, the plaintiff Roksna got married to the businessman Md Shahjalal Mia after paying a dowry of Tk two lakh. Since the marriage, defendant No. 1 with the help of defendant No. 2 has been demanding Tk two lakh as dowry from Badini Roksana Begum at various times. Defendant Md. Shahjalal Miah used to physically and humanly torture Badini because she could not pay Tk two lakh as dowry. Roksana Begum filed the said case in the court of the learned Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka on 10/09/2020, unable to bear the torture.

Later, when an arrest warrant was issued in the said case, on 03/11/2020, Turag police station arrested the two defendants and handed them over to the court. Later, after two days of imprisonment, the two defendants were released on bail. And they came to know about the case only after being released on bail. Later, the court and the defendants of the case did not meet the plaintiff or the witnesses even though the case continued for some time. Even after going to the address mentioned in the case, no trace of the plaintiff or witnesses of the said case was found. Later on 03/11/2021, the learned court acquitted the accused and settled the case. Later, on 09/02/2022, the defendant No. 1 Md. Shahjalal Mia filed a case in the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Court against a total of 5 persons including the plaintiff of the false case, the learned court took cognizance of the case and ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate, giving instructions.

The victim Md. Shahjalal Mia said that the case filed against him is completely false and fabricated. Even the plaintiff in the case, Roksana, he does not know, has never seen. The said false case was filed against me and my neighbor Yakub Kabir by the local bandit Nurunnabi alias Nooruddin, son of Shukkur Ali of the same area and the bandit Gholam Russel Seiyal, son of Ismail Hossain of neighboring Bhatulia area, by making the women members of their party as plaintiffs and other members as witnesses, to steal his property by fraud. has done So I have already filed a written complaint in various offices including the Prime Minister’s office to escape the clutches of this land grabbing gang.

On the condition of anonymity, several dignitaries of the area said that Nurunnabi alias Nuruddin and Golam Russell Seyal are active members of the land fraud ring. There are numerous allegations of land fraud against them.
