The Sonargaon police station has received a case in connection with the terrorist attack on crime reporter Raju Ahmad, a member of the Dhaka Union of Journalist (DUJ).
According to Raju Ahmad, on Monday 24th July, an organized group of 20 people under the leadership of Ali Bhuiyan, Shamsul Bhuiyan, Shahajalal, Hussain and Abul Bhuiyan of Dudhghata area carried out a terrorist attack on him , in consequence the protests of their involvement with drugs, frequent thefts and other crimes.
They held Raju and forcibly taken to a nearby pharmacy, tried to kill him by bludgeoning, suffocating and stabbing him for one and a half hours. Hearing the screams of Raju, people came and rescued him. DUJ leaders condemned the incidence in a press release.
