Who to rescue the rescuer?

Afzal khan, the CEO and the founder of Robinhood the Rescuer of Dog, Cat, Bird and others animals remarked this with depression about the future of his voluntary project.

He informed the Daily Tribunal that petting dogs and cats has been his hobby since childhood. That hobby has turned him into the ‘Robin hood’ of cats and dogs on the front of the nation today.

The Rescuer said those who keep these pet animals care about the animals but the reverse scenes are seen when looking at the dogs and cats on the streets. As much as there is neglect, there is also the image of brutal torture of people.

People do not need any excuse about mauling dogs and cats. Often, animals are left paralyzed. And this is how the animals suffer and eventually lose their lives. But they don’t think that the life of these animals is given by God.

Afzal Khan claimed that he used to pick the helpless animals and take care of them constantly. He was protesting as much as he could from his place, but how much more can be prevented?

Robinhood brought these crippled animals to his home and served them. At one time many animals gathered in the house. He continued to nurture them with utmost compassion. But at the end of the day, they spend a lot of money to buy a lot of pet food. He did not stop even though he raised that money with great difficulty. Also, those dogs and cats who were stuck in very dangerous places and risked their lives to rescue them.

In this way, without looking at his career, Afjal Khan runs from street to street in Dhaka. As it is not possible to do rescue work alone, he formed a rescue team ‘Robinhood the Rescuer’. That is the borning story of Robinhood.

This rescue team continues today by its own expense. The Prime Minister’s office has also completed animal rescue work by this team m for 8 times. They were seft the helpless bird from the 3KV electric line. They Kept out of danger a cat up from 21 floors. In this way, Robinhood the Rescuer team is rescuing the animals of our people from the top level peoples.

But how much more at his own ability of expense, as if Afzal Khan, famous for Robin Hood, has been disappointed.

In this context he said, Robinhood the Rescuer was formed in 2010. Some volunteers have helped me for the kindness of pet animals. As a result, it becomes easier to set up and operate the organization. We do the work that fire brigade rescue workers are supposed to do, we have to pay Tk 3k taka per day for 6-7 rescue workers for rescue. We afford their lunch, dinner, and diesel costs of Tk 2k every day.

We are doing this because we are pet lovers. But now it is becoming a burden as if the native house has to be sold to continue the volunteer work. A few days ago, when everyone was at home in a pandemic, some other young Turks, including me, provided food to street animals that could not eat.

They are also self-financed. Today this program continues till 2022. In addition, we are providing medical services to these homeless animals for free. We also provide treatment for privately owned dogs and cats at affordable prices. Due to lack of money, I cannot expand the medical services. But no activity stopped.

Robinhood, the Rescuer has added us to 999 since 2019 because of the government’s trust in us. We are still trying to keep that trust.

The sad thing is that if the rescue workers ask for car oil money for some personal dog and cat rescue, they act as if we are bound to do this work as we are government employees. We come away with empty pockets as we are truly liable from the heart only. We cannot provide service to everyone with only one car.

He said, the rich people donate in different places, they can donate to our fund if they want. So I urge everyone interested in this holy matter to contact us. A small amount of help in this work is not enough to run such a large team. We want to continue this activity further.
