Bangladesh Road Transport Authority(BRTA) pays rapt attention to the people’s welfare so that they can have better Bangladesh where there have no fatal accidental incidents and killings of the people at high rate. Digitalization checks brokers, ease the activities and service providing to the common people. People are getting more facilities, more service in terms to the previous days. BRTA Chairman Nur Mohammad Mazumder says if we want full discipline in roads & highways, we the all stake holders should work together in line of awareness, respective responsibilities, creating honor to the road & highways rules & regulations.
BRTA Chairman said this to The Daily Tribunal & Dainik Adhikaran recently urging all to avoid unlawful practices while they crossing and riding the roads and highways. Number of roads should increase; number of vehicles should decrease while on-going roads should be expanded further more. To a question, the BRTA Chairman said the scene of accidental death on roads & highways always shock us.
The rate of accidental death is still on alarming. Passers-by, drivers, the owners of the vehicles are not playing the due roles what the nations deserve to have. Drivers are driving recklessly; the owners are plying the non-fit vehicles. The authority & the police administration has also responsibilities to do some wellbeing to the countrymen. The general mass should obey transport regulations seriously which assure them having roads & highways with less causalities. People all strata will get relief from fatal accidents. And the citizens will make practice rules as habit.
What is your view about Ride Sharing? BRTA Chairman answered in countryside, the ride sharing is prohibited to ply inside the mega cities like Chattagram, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur, Mymensingh. In cases of Dhaka & Gazipur, the ride sharing is allowed as it runs under the DTC areas. About inadequate manpower, The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Chairman said BRTA is a regulatory and supervisory government’s body which engaged to supervise and regulate all the vehicle related activities across the country. About issuing of license to apprentice drivers, he said the government has taken appropriate initiatives so that they can’t go out of control. We are incorporating everything under the BRTA admin so that discipline can be established in roads and highways very soon.
About cautious driving in winter season, BRTA Chairman said men in driving seats always should maintain the foggy weather in consideration and so the drivers are prohibited to drive in high speed. In these cases, they should maintain discipline of ‘deeper’ and ‘low beam’, he added. ‘Lane changing’ & ‘over-taking’ tendency should be avoided fully while the drivers drive the vehicles. Rules of ‘Fog light’ & ‘Parking light’ should be maintained carefully while the cars & vehicles are running behind the front line vehicles. Safe distance only can save people from any accident.
About fulfilling the shortage of manpower, the BRTA Boss said we already started to fill up the vacant of 2 thousand 3 hundred 15 aiming to make the institution stronger and vibrant. New division and administrative zones are created and the number of magistrates should be increased. ‘We are in zero tolerance about corruption’, the Chairman added. He revealed that BRTA authority already has punished two assistant directors for their indulging corruption while one is facing case for get rid what allegations had brought against him.
