The Police Bureau of Investigation(PBI) is committed to uphold the glory of police uniform, especially its own uniform which is given to them for performing duties in PBI so that the mass people could have the benefits greatly. Abuse of power and abuse of badge is not desirable. PBI Chief, Additional Inspector General Banaj Kumar Majumder BPM(Bar), PPM said these to the Daily Tribunal while he gave an exclusive interview with the daily on Tuesday at his office. Mr Banaj Kumar Majumder is the founder of this disciplined force and he engaged to nourish and flourish the forces dedicating his all intellect and genius. During February 5, 2016, PBI was established and since then the dignified forces have been going ahead to achieve its aim.

PBI Chief urged all to bring back from ‘identity culture’ as it mar the neutrality and unbiased attitude to the people. By the by, he disclosed that as the PBI forces attained strength to do good, the government is considering empowering the PBI forces to check the tendency of money laundering. Tribunal: As the head of the Police Bureau of Investigation(PBI), you have a lot of fame and success spread across the country. What power do you think is behind this achievement?

Answer: Mr Banaj Kumar Majumder said I think the inherent forces that have attained the Organization so far is the power of us. We consider both complainers and accused are equally valuable. They all have to have judgement. If we drop the sentiment and words of the accused are deniable and only the words of the complainant are acceptable, then they commit a wrong & injustice that may harm the ways of detection of any crime. For this reason, we hear from both parties and enable to discover the actual truth of the incident.

Tribunal: PBI has become an institution like a human rights organization nurtured in your hands. The issue is widely discussed in the world. How to achieve this positive attitude of the people?

Answer: Banaj Kumar Majumder says we allow visitors to meet us to unveil the true incidence. Picture of the judgement. information which always helps us to reach a final decision. That is why we call the visitors “Lakhkhi”, the goddesses of wealth & resources. We never ever discourage them to meet any high officials.

Tribunal: PBI has emerged as a source of inspiration for investigative reporters. Because every report received by this organization is as complicated and terrible as it is also hoped to solve it. You do it with dedication and professionalism. In this, the country, the nation and the affected people gain self-satisfaction. Let us know your comments on this.

Answer: Mr Banaj Kumar Majumder says professionalism can’t be dishonored by any means as it can save neutrality, humanity and human rights. As a result, people of all walks of life from all geographies in Bangladesh appreciate our deeds and performances. PBI has now emerged as a source of inspiration for investigative reporters since 2016 as it launched during February 5, 2016.

Tribunal: How and where do you get hold of the torch that we see in your hands to lead the nation to the path of light and hope? Tell us a little.

Answer: Banaj Kumar Majumder says we believe to do something good silently rather than mere publicity. This secret gives us holding of the torch that we see in our hands to lead the nation to the path of light and hope.

Tribunal: PBI never mixes professionalism with politics. What do you think is going on behind the scenes?

Answer: Banaj Kumar Majumder said we never ever mix politics behind any crime as every citizen has rights to have his or her constitutional and human rights that are described in the constitution. Tribunal: Your enviable success behind some sensational drive gives people hope. What do you think we need to do more to spread and get this optimism in all areas? Answer: It is the matter of reflection. If not perceived, how can you materialize it? If we think about what we are engaged to materialize, we will have its benefits. Though we are law enforcers, we prefer policing.

Tribunal: Tell us about PBI structure. How does this structure work in Dhaka and outside Dhaka?

Answer: Banaj Kumar Majumder said we find that almost major portion of the law enforcers are doing good and very few commit mistakes, offenses which can malign our glory. Everyday hundreds of cases are lodged but very few.

Tribunal: Are PBI members going to UN peacekeeping missions outside the country and gaining reputation?

Answer: Banaj Kumar Majumder said we are sending our members abroad as Bangladesh Police forces in view to work as UN peacekeeping missions for gaining reputation.

Tribunal: How is PBI supporting and coordinating law enforcement?

Answer: Banaj Kumar Majumder says we are working as crime detectors rather than law enforcers as it is our main focus. While we perform duties and responsibilities, we always keep contact with other units so that we can get remedy as early as possible. Our integrity and discipline is so high that at any time even in half hours’ notice we enable to perform our duties nicely and neatly.

Tribunal: Do you have a roadmap for improving the law and order situation?

Answer: Banaj Kumar Majumder replies that collective and coordinated performance always do good for us. And we lead our life in accordance with the Bangladesh Police rules and regulations. Honorable Home Minister Asaduzzam Khan Kamal & IGP Dr Benzir Ahmed always advise us and cooperate and guide us at every steps. Tribunal: If a victim is prevented from coming to you, how far do you come to remedy it? If we hear such a type of allegation brought against us, we solve it instantly. At last the PBI Boss Banaj Kumar Majumder urged all, especially the victims and sufferers, to come forward for getting help us with every problem they faced.
