Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated Mujib Corner at the Special Security Force (SSF) headquarters in the Prime Minister’s Office. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister laid emphasis on spreading the country’s history among the new generation as it not only inspires them in patriotism but also helps the country move forward. “A spirit will develop among the future generation and generation to generation through the knowledge of the history. It would also inspire them with patriotism and encourage them to do more for the welfare of the people,” she said. Sheikh Hasina opined that when this mentality among the new generation would return, the country will further move forward economically, politically, socially and culturally. She said the victory story of the country was tried to be erased in 21 years and that is why many of the new generation did not know the real history. “But, truth can never be erased and today it has been proved again. . . That day is back again.” She said Bangladesh has become one of the developing countries due to long-term efforts of the government and this forward march has to be carried on maintaining this continuity of development spree. The premier said that a lot of historical information has been highlighted in this corner (Mujib Corner) and therefore, those who will come to discharge their duties will be motivated with patriotism and on the other hand will be inspired to keep their heads high as a victorious nation. “Because, we have to move towards the future by taking lessons from history,” she said, adding, “And in the age of science and information technology, the more we enrich our knowledge in science, the more we will make the future brighter and better by learning history.” Mentioning that her prayers and blessings are always for the SSF members, she said, “When she prays she prays not only for her family but also for her colleagues and countrymen, especially wishes good luck to those who are in charge of her security.” The Prime Minister also called upon all to be vigilant so that the country’s independence, earned at the cost of so much blood and sacrifice, never goes in vain. Prime Minister’s Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, BB, Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, SSF Director General Major General Md Majibur Rahman, among others, were present.
