Blacker goes in hide, RAB-3 drives bring relax for train ticket sufferers

Railway Police and RNB- the special security forces are responsible for ensuring the law and order situation in the surrounding areas of rail station and passengers, but such authority completely failed to tackle rail ticket selling from the black market. Some vested officials are involved with black market for personal benefit, imposing severe public sufferings ahead the largest festival especially the Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul- Azha.

The Railway Authority, Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB) and Railway Police completely failed to check the rail-ticket blacker syndicate centering the ahead of Eid ul Azha, the biggest religious festival for the Muslims community which is knocking at the door.

Meanwhile, a good number of success drives were conducted by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) which would help ensure the ease and availability of train-tickets for the homebound people. After arresting some five members of the rail-ticket blacker syndicate by RAB-3 the other blacker disappeared, said RAB officials.

In the recent week, some seven ticket blockers were arrested by the two separate drives of RAB, but Railway Police or RNB were unable to capture any train ticket blacker. On the other hand, the detective reports of different Detective Units of Bangladesh disclosed that some officials of rail way, online ticket selling platform Shohoz and RGB are involved in ticket blacker rings.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP), Bangladesh Benazir Ahmed ordered his forces to put highest effort for facilitating the home-going people’s hazard-free peaceful Eid-journey. Wednesday afternoon IGP sent a letter to the Units under Bangladesh Police with his zero-tolerance message for ensuring hassle free Eid-journey to the people. IGP said to his forces, “The journey centering Eid- ul- Azha of home-going and home-coming people should be made uninterrupted at any cost. “

 Police Super Bina Rani Das, the operation officer of RAB 3 Sadar Battalion said to The Daily Tribunal on mobile phone, “The members and the masterminds of the rail-ticket blacker syndicate are under watch. RAB detective Unit’s members are remaining at highest alert and watchful to check the said syndicates for removing the sufferings of the ticket seekers who are moving to their native home centering upcoming Eid ul Azha from the rail stations.”

“Now the rail ticket seekers are enjoying their rights to get a Eid ticket”, the RAB officer added. According to Bina Rani Das, the blacker syndicate members are standing as a passenger in the line as train ticket seekers and they succeed to hunt the desirable four tickets as per the rules of RailWay authority. Applying this worst-way they buy the maximum number of tickets from various ticket-selling counters and create an artificial crisis of tickets with a view to sell the tickets at a high price.

RAB officials said, according to a detective report – acting on a tip-off that a group was selling train tickets at inflated prices taking advantage of the Eid rush- a team of RAB 3 conducted a special drive at Kamalapur Rail Station on Monday in July 4 at 8:45pm. During this drive five men were arrested for their alleged involvement in selling train tickets illegally ahead of Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

The detainees were identified as Md Liton Mia, 37, Md Shah Alam, 34, Md Imran, 20, Md Abu Taher, 26, and Md Zahidur Rahman Shakib, 40. Four train tickets and Tk 6,927 in cash were seized from the detainees, said Rab-3. During questioning, the accused admitted to the crime. Legal action was taken against the detainees by RAB and handed over them to the Police Station as per the law.

Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained two members of Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB) for selling tickets at higher prices in the black market in Chittagong recently on July 3. The detainees were habildar Md Robiul Hossain, 39, and sepoy Md Imran Hossain, 27.

According to RAB, they were selling tickets at exorbitant prices in front of the Railway Sramik LeagueÕs office at the Chittagong Railway Station. The elite team conducted a drive at about 10:30pm on Sunday and recovered nine train tickets and Tk10,320 from the two RNB staff.

They were handed over to ChittagongÕs Kotwali police station for further legal procedures. On the other hand, No blacker have captured yet by the Railway Nirapatta Bahini (RNB) and the Railway Police- the special unit under Bangladesh Police for ensuring the law and order situation of the Railstation, platform and rail lines including to preventing all types of crimes that committed centering this area.

In recent days, centering to move to a village from the capital for sharing the pleasure of Eid with the relatives, those rail ticket seekers faced intolerable suffering to reach tickets due to ongoing illegal activities of ticket-blacker syndicate in various railway stations.

It is seen that the Railway police, special unit under Bangladesh police for maintaining law and order situation of the rail station including platform and rail lines failed to ensure peaceful hazard Eid journey.

Three days ago, Aleya Begum, 34, the ticket expected awaiting women in Kamalapur railway station was seen to express his bitterness with a shout while preparing to go back home without a ticket in spite of putting daynight effort in Kamalapur Rail station.

On the other hand, from recent week a video is seen as viral on social media platform that shows the two women were involved in a physical quarrel at railway station for rail-ticket hunting and a vulnerable situation was created but no rail-police members seem to come front to tackle the unwanted incident. In this backdrop, The Eid advance train ticket selling started from July 1 and ended on July 5.
