State Minister for Relief & Disaster Dr Enamur Rahman inaugurated 4 day long Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange (DREE) BANGLADESH on Sunday at | Bangladesh &United States has jointly arranged this exercise at Army golf club. It followed the disaster management activities of the government. This year the focal point of the exercise is ‘Resilience through Preparedness’. Under the supervision of Armed Forces Department, Ministry of Relief & Disaster and US Army Pacific (USARPAC) are collaborating at exercise. To discover the Earthquake Contingency Plan is its one of the main subject matter.
Besides, Lt Gen Waqar-uz-Zaman, SGP, PSC, Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces, Md Kamrul Hasan, NDC, Secretary, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, and Brigadier General H M Masihur Rahman, SGP, SPP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Director General, Directorate of Operations and Planning, Department of Armed Forces delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony. The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior military/civilian officials, military advisors/diplomats of the participating countries and representatives of various disaster management agencies. At the end of the opening ceremony, Lt Colonel Mejbahul Islam Khan, Department of Armed Forces and Deputy Secretary Salim Ahmed, Ministry of Defense and Security. Participants from 27 countries, organizations & institutions joined the exercise.
