7,000 more teachers will be recruited in primary: Zakir Hossain

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain said that 7,000 more teachers will be recruited in primary schools. This teacher recruitment will be completed within the next two to three months from now.

He said these things in a press conference at the Ministry’s meeting room at the Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday.

The press conference was organized on the initiatives and achievements of primary education. Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed was present at this time.
Regarding the recruitment of primary school teachers, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain said that 7,000 more teachers will be recruited. Clearance has already been given.

Zakir Hossain said that “initiatives have been taken to change the names of government primary schools which have grating and negative names to beautiful, tasteful, melodious ones and in keeping with the local history and culture including prominent people, Bir Freedom Fighters”. The policy was issued on January 23 last year. It has been decided to revise destruction gazette within the next 6 months.

Stating that only first-grade class textbooks have been prepared in primary education as per the revised curriculum, the State Minister for Primary and Mass Education said that textbooks for other classes will be given to schools in phases. For this, the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has already considered the pre-primary education program 4+ and 5+ as a 2-year pre-primary education piloting program in 3,214 schools this year.

He said 700 trainers have been trained to train pre-primary teachers for six days on child development and play-based learning. All field-level teachers will receive this training directly and online. NCTB will also conduct nationwide specialized training on pre-primary specialized training curriculum in this regard.

Zakir Hossain added that all activities related to curriculum distribution and subject-related training of all primary-level teachers will be completed by March of this year.
