Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have arrested two Myanmar nationals, along with Ice and Yaba, in a raid on Jalia Island area near Naf River in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. 1.69 kg of crystal meth and 54,000 pieces yaba were found from them at the time. The consignment was seized on Saturday morning while being smuggled across the Naf River in the Jaliya Island area.
The arrested are- Md. Jubayer Ahmed, son of Siraj Uddin and Md. Rafiq, son of the late Abdul Gani of Maungdaw area of ​​Myanmar. Teknaf-2 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Colonel Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekhar said in a press release that two special patrol teams from Teknaf Sadar Battalion and Damdamia BOP took up position after receiving information about the entry of ice and yaba shipments from Myanmar. A boat crossed the Naf River from the Shoar Island area of ​​Myanmar and came to the island of Jaliya in the interior of Bangladesh. At that time BGB patrol team seized the boat. After searching the boat, they found one kg 59 grams of ice and 54,000 piesec of yaba hidden in a sack under the deck. They have been handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station after filing cases in this regard.
