The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in seven parts of the country due to the formation of deep moving clouds. In addition, kalbaisakhi or strong winds may blow in 16 regions. The agency has asked to display warning signal number 2 in the river ports of these areas. The Meteorological Department said this in a forecast on Friday.
According to the 24-hour forecast on Friday, the wind speed in Dhaka will be 10 to 15 kmph from the south-southeast, which could be 30 to 40 kmph in temporarily strong winds. Yesterday, the highest temperature in the country was 35 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi. The lowest was 22.4 degrees Celsius in Syedpur. The highest rainfall was 201 mm in Dinajpur. The tendency of rain may decrease from Sunday to tomorrow. However, meteorologists said that the rain may increase again by the end of next week.
Meteorologist said, Tariful Newaz Kabir said yesterday evening that the combination of water vapor coming from the Bay of Bengal with the western light pressure is creating deep moving clouds in Bangladesh. In the next 24 hours from 6 pm in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions of the moderate to very heavy rain is likely.
On the other hand, the weather forecast for the inland river ports of the country from 4:30 pm to 1:00 pm on Friday, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Temporary winds with rain or thunderstorms of 60 to 80 kmph may blow from the west or north-west over the region. River ports in these areas have been asked to display the second naval warning signal.
