BNP leader Abu Saeed Chand arrested: RMP

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has arrested Rajshahi district BNP convener Abu Saeed Chand for threatening to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Rajshahi Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain confirmed the arrest around 11:30 on Thursday.

According to police sources, Abu Saeed Chand hid himself by leaving his phone at home. Before this, Abul Kalam Azad, General Secretary of Baneshwar Union Awami League, filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Puthia police station on Sunday at around 12:30 pm.

In the case, Azad alleged that BNP leader Chand threatened to kill the Prime Minister while addressing a public meeting in the presence of BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman on Friday at the Shivpurhat school ground.
