Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, Mujibnagar government is the first legitimate and systematic government of Bangladesh. Anti-independence circles always try to make the Mujibnagar government and the great liberation war controversial. The new generation should be wary of these evil forces and should know the correct history of the liberation war.
He told this while addressing as president at a discussion meeting in the student-teacher center auditorium yesterday marking the historic Mujibnagar Day.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman highlighted the background and significance of the historic Mujibnagar government and said that, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman formulated an outline of the Liberation War.
According to his outline, plans and instructions, the Mujibnagar government was systematically formed with the people’s representatives of Awami League who won the 1970 general elections. Nowhere else in the world is there such a precedent of forming a government in the name of an individual.
The great liberation war of Bangladesh was conducted under the leadership of this systematically formed government.
He paid deep respect to the immortal memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
