On the occasion of the great Independence and National Day 2022, the national flag was hoisted with due dignity at the head office of DESCO on the morning of March 26. The national flag was hoisted by Mr. ATM Mostafa Kamal, Chairman, DESCO Board and Additional Secretary, Power Department. Mr. Kawsar Amir Ali, Managing Director, DESCO, Mr. Khandaker Zahirul Islam, Executive Director (Administration & HR), Joint Secretary and other Executive Directors and senior DESCO officials were present on the occasion.
At 09:30 in the morning, a discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the great Independence and National Day 2022 under the chairmanship of the Managing Director of DESCO at the Training and Development Department of DESCO. Mr. Chairman of DESCO Board was present as the Chief Guest of the meeting. Former Professor of the Department of Political Science, University of Dhaka was present as a special guest. Shawkat Ara Hossain, former director general of Bangla Academy and Dhaka University Professor Dr. was present as the chief negotiator in the meeting. Syed Anwar Hossain. DESCO officials and employees from all walks of life, including the Executive Director, participated in the discussion. Professor Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain in his speech said that in order to hold the ideal of Father of the Nation we have to know the Father of the Nation. He described the Agartala conspiracy case, the context of the freedom fighters, the declaration of independence on March 26, various speeches of the Father of the Nation and various events in his life and introduced the ideology of the Father of the Nation to all present. He called upon all to play their role in the development of the state on the basis of equality, human rights and social justice in the spirit of freedom fighters.
Mr. Chairman of DESCO Board in his speech mentioned that the benefit of independence is the development of Bangladesh today. He emphasized on keeping the core ideology of the freedom fighters in mind and preserving the correct history of the liberation war for future generations. In his speech, the President recalled the unprecedented mass uprising of March 71 and the great war of liberation seen in childhood. “We are able to stand tall in the world today because the father of the nation saved the country by risking his life,” he said.
