Bangladesh Army Water Sports Competition conclude

The concluding and prize giving ceremony of Bangladesh Army Water Sports (Swimming, Water Polo and Diving) Competition-2022 was held on Thursday (May 26) at Division Swimming Pool, Rangpur Cantonment. Master General of Ordnance of Bangladesh Army Major General Md. Abu Saeed Siddique was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners. Also present on the occasion were General Officer Commanding (GOC) 66 Infantry Division and Area Commander Rangpur Area Major General Md. Faizur Rahman.

A total of 14 teams from different formations participated in this competition. In the competition, Jessore Area team became the champion by getting 7 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals and Ghatail region team got the honor of being runner up by getting 7 gold, 11 silver and 03 bronze medals. Jessore Area team’s UP Corporal Jewel Ahmed, was selected as the best swimmer. In the water polo competition, Ghatail Area team became the champion and Savar Area team became the runner up. Bogra Area Team UP Corporal Md. Jewel Rana was considered as the best player in water polo.

The closing ceremony was attended by senior officers of the Army and officers of various units of Rangpur Cantonment, Junior Commissioned Officers and soldiers of other ranks. Through this competition, the players will develop a friendly attitude and mutual friendship will be further strengthened.
