Esports, as a creative outlet, has garnered widespread traction amongst gaming enthusiasts all over the world. And to that extent, Bangladesh is not lagging behind at all. In our country, Esports has gained massive popularity among teenagers, young adults, and working professionals.In order to facilitate the ever-growing number of fans in the country Discovery One Ltd. as the title
sponsor, is set to host the D1 Cup Bangladesh 2022 (Esports Championship), this June. On 11th June,2022 with a massive prizepool of 40,50,000 BDT (Forty Lacs Fifty Thousand) Discovery One Ltd. has made declaration of the championship over an announcement in the capital.The high officials of Discovery One Limited were present on the announcement event and expressed their vision about the Esports gaming community. This event will aim to establish a milestone for Esports in Bangladesh and boost our country’s trajectory in this sector.
This event is set to be the largest LAN tournament in the history of Bangladesh. It will feature three popular Esports titles — DOTA 2, Valorant, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). While the former two are computer-based games, MLBB is a mobile game.The champion teams from each game will receive 600,000 BDT each while the first runners-up from each game will receive 200,000 BDT each. The teams in the 3rd to 8th position will be awarded 50,000 BDT each and those in the 9th to 16th position will receive 25,000 BDT each.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Grand Finale will be awarded 50,000 BDT for their outstanding performance. Besides, there will also be prizes available for the viewers and audience members worth around 2,70,000 BDT. Besides the prize money, every awardee team and player will also be awarded with trophies and other striking prizes.
The registration phase and qualifying rounds of this event will be held online. Players can register themselves for this tournament from 11th June to 12th June, 2022. The online qualifiers will be held from 14th June onwards. The Grand Finale will be held in the last week of July 2022 at an offline venue.
