Cooperative Women’s Leadership Development Conference Held in Rajshahi

A Cooperative Women's Leadership Development and Experience-Sharing Conference was held today at the BRAC Learning Centre in Rajshahi, organized by Heifer International Bangladesh. Joint Registrar of the Department of Cooperatives Mokhlesur Rahman attended the event as the chief guest. The conference was inaugurated by Nurun Nahar, Country Director of Heifer International Bangladesh. In her remarks, she stressed the importance of sustainable development through cooperatives, women's empowerment, and strengthening collaborative initiatives. 

Special guests included Abu Saif, District Cooperative Officer of Rajshahi, and Abdullah-Hil-Abid, District Cooperative Officer of Naogaon. Around 40 women cooperative leaders and representatives from different implementing organizations took part in the workshop. They shared their experiences and best practices, which are expected to contribute to strengthening cooperative activities in the future.

The closing remarks were delivered by David Gomez, Director of Programs at Heifer International Bangladesh. He thanked the participants for their active involvement and highlighted the importance of collective efforts to further advance the cooperative sector. Organizers said the conference is expected to serve as an effective platform for enhancing the capacity of cooperative leaders, expanding networking opportunities, and facilitating the exchange of experiences among participants.
