Mobile court fines fish trader for injecting jelly into shrimp in Narsingdi

The administration of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila conducted a mobile court drive at a wholesale fish market in the Bouakur MP Market area this morning.

Acting on a tip-off, the mobile court conducted the drive at 6:00 am today (Monday). During the drive, a fish trader was fined Tk 50,000 for illegally injecting jelly into shrimp under Section 31(1) of the Fish and Fish Products (Inspection and Quality Control) Act, 2020. At the same time, around 123 kilograms of seized shrimp were destroyed publicly.

The mobile court was led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila, Meftahul Hasan. Upazila Fisheries Officer of Narsingdi Sadar provided overall assistance during the drive.
