Mymensingh College Crowned Divisional Champions
Mymensingh College emerged divisional champion for the second time in the Inter-College Football Tournament Mymensingh Divisional Level Competition defeating Bakshiganj Government Kiamat Ullah College of Jamalpur district by 4-0 goals in the final held at Mymensingh district stadium today (Wednesday). In the proceeding, champion Mymensingh College's Maruf scored two goals while Swadhin and Faisal netted one goal each for the champions.
Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Farah Shammi was present as the chief guest and handed over the trophies and cash reward of Taka 60 thousand to the champions and runners-up teams after the match. Deputy Commissioner Md. Saifur Rahman, city corporation chief executive officer, and its Secretary Sumana Al Majid were also present. Maruf of Mymensingh College was adjudged the best player of the final meet while Kaiser of Jamalpur was named the best player of the tournament.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Reza Md. Golam Masum Pradhan, District Sports Officer and District Sports Organization Member Secretary Al Amin, member secretary of the Divisional Sports Association Harun Or Rashid, member of the District Sports Association Anwar Hossain Manju, Principal of Mymensingh College SM Shafiqul Haider Mukul were, among others, witnessed the match. A total of eight teams, including champions and runners-up from four districts of the division, participated in the inaugural tournament, organised by the divisional administration and district sports office and with the overall support of the Sports Directorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports marking the Festival of Youth 2025.
