The excitement in Bangladesh’s squash arena is set to rise again as the Turaag Active 6th National Squash Championship 2026 is scheduled to begin on June 10 in the capital.

Organized by the Bangladesh Squash Federation and sponsored by Turaag Active, a concern of Urmi Group, the national-level championship will feature talented players from different regions of the country competing for the prestigious title.

The announcement was made at a press conference held on Monday (June 8) at the Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban in Dhaka by Brigadier General (Retd.) G M Kamrul Islam, SPP, NDC, PSC, MBA, MPhil, General Secretary of Bangladesh Squash Federation.

The press conference was attended by Major General Md. Hasan Uz Zaman, NDU, AFWC, PSC, MSc, Engg ( evn) MPhil, FIEB President of Bangladesh Squash Federation, who was present as the chief guest.

Also present were Major (Retd.) Imruz Ahmed, Vice President of Bangladesh Olympic Association; Zubaidur Rahman, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association; officials of Bangladesh Squash Federation; members of the organising committee; and representatives of Turaag Active, the title sponsor of the championship.

During the event, the championship trophy of Turaag Active 6th National Squash Championship 2026 was unveiled. The official trophy unveiling ceremony, attended by federation officials and Turaag Active representatives, marked the beginning of the final countdown to the tournament.

Speaking at the press conference, Major General Md. Hasan Uz Zaman said players from different regions, sports institutions, universities, and clubs across Bangladesh will participate in this year’s championship.

He said the selection process is already at its final stage in several regions and institutions, including Khagrachhari, Bandarban, Chattogram, Gopalganj, Thakurgaon, Sylhet, Cumilla, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), and various clubs and organization’s in Dhaka.

The federation president said the competition will be held across nine categories, including men’s and women’s open categories, amateur and university student categories, as well as separate boys’ and girls’ categories in Under-11, Under-13, and Under-15 age groups.

The matches will be played at three venues in Dhaka — Army Squash Complex, Bashundhara Sports City, and Army Officers’ Mess
