Eid Holiday Crowds Overwhelm Tourist Spots in Sonargaon

The Eid-ul-Azha enthusiasm and festivity continue at Sonargaon area as there was a delightful presence of visitors from home and abroad at different tourist spots in the area. The tourist spots of Sonargaon — Sonargaon Folk Arts and Crafts Museum, Panam Nagar, and Banglar Taj Mahal — were crowded on Friday with people of all ages. Children, young boys and girls wearing colourful dresses gathered at the tourist spots where small makeshift shops were set up to sell different foods and toys. Additional security measures have been taken for visitors at tourist places around Eid.

Rahman Ali, a dweller of Narsingdi area, who came to Panam City with his family, said that they came to visit the beautiful place on the occasion of Eid. "This is the first time we have come to Panam City. We have come here to visit as well as gather knowledge on history," he added. Rafiqul Islam, who came from Motijheel, said, "I visit different places with my children every Eid. This time the whole family came to visit Sonargaon. I think Sonargaon is the bearer of the history and heritage of the entire Bangladesh. These places should be preserved seriously so that the next generation can see this historical place."
