What’s Cheaper and What’s Costlier in the Proposed Budget 2025–26

Prices of some products and services may go up while some others may fall due to changes in tariff structure in the proposed budget (FY26) unveiled by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed this afternoon.  Goods and services which will be cheaper include cancer drugs, insulin, sugar, sanitary napkin, air fare, newsprint paper, ice cream, locally made e-bike, LNG, clay pots, paper, plates, locally made monitors (>30"), lithium and griffin battery, tires, land registration fee, packaged milk, pet food, cricket bat and ink.

On the other hand, products and services which will be costlier include fridge, AC, LPG cylinder, lift, mobile phone, washing machine, oven, blender, steel rod, cotton yard, cotton, plastic homeware, e-commerce sales, cigarettes, flat, commercial space, soap and shampoo.
