BGB rescues seriously ill tourist from remote Langlok waterfall area in Thanchi, Bandarban

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued a seriously ill tourist from the remote Langlok Waterfall area in Thanchi upazila of Bandarban and safely transported him to Thanchi Upazila Health Complex for medical treatment.

The tourist, Nafis Mashrur Islam, was travelling with a six-member group from Mirpur in Dhaka when he suddenly fell seriously ill while visiting the remote Bagher Langlok Waterfall area.

After the tourist’s family sought assistance from the BGB, a rescue team from the Tendummukh BGB Camp under Bolipara Battalion (38 BGB) was dispatched to the area on the instructions and under the overall supervision of Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Yasir Arafat Hossain.

The BGB rescue team travelled by two boats to reach the remote location and rescued the ailing tourist along with his companions. The team provided him with initial medical assistance and necessary support at the spot before transporting him and his companions safely by boat to Thanchi Upazila Health Complex.

The group reached the health complex at around 4:00pm on September 20, where arrangements were made for the tourist’s necessary medical treatment.

The rescue operation in the remote and challenging hill area highlights the BGB’s role in providing humanitarian assistance and ensuring public safety, particularly in difficult-to-reach areas.
