Damaging road thru illegal pond digging protested

Locals of Satkurshi Village of Raiganj Upazila of the district formed a human chain in front of the Raiganj UNO’s office on Wednesday morning to protest against the damage of regional road through illegal pond digging.

Participants in the human chain said that illegal pond digging has been going on in the agricultural land of Satkurshi Village for a long time. Due to the daily transportation of soil by very heavy drum trucks, the only regional road in the area is being severely damaged. They demanded urgent intervention of the administration to stop the pond digging immediately in the public interest and protect the road. They also submitted a written complaint to the concerned office of the upazila administration.
