Fruit festival celebrated in Magura District Jail

Organized by the Magura District Jail authorities, a Seasonal Fruit Festival was held in the jail on Tuesday afternoon when litchi, mango and jackfruit were distributed among 435 prisoners.

Prison Superintendent Sheikh Mohiuddin Haider said, “This festival has been organized as part of ensuring the physical and mental well-being of the prisoners. They are happy to receive seasonal fruits and this created a festive atmosphere inside the prison.”

The fruit distribution programme received a great response from prison officials and employees as well as the relatives of the prisoners and everyone expressed satisfaction with the programme. They said that such initiatives play a helpful role in building a positive attitude among the prisoners and accelerate the rehabilitation process.

Many prisoners at the programme said that they were very happy and grateful to receive such an event after a long time. The fruit festival has instilled different feelings and enthusiasm among them.

It is worth noting that Magura District Jail had worked for the human development of prisoners through various social and mental activities in the past. This fruit festival is a prime example of that.
